Instagram Reels publishing for some Instagram Creator accounts: Meta test program available now
We’re partnering with Meta on a test where a randomized, small subset of creator accounts will be able to publish content directly through our platform.
If you are eligible, we are so excited to have you as a participant in this test and cannot wait for all the high-quality content you will publish and schedule through our platform. Because this is a limited test, participants may not share anything publicly about this experience.
If you are not eligible, do not worry! We will share more about this feature when we plan on making it widely available.
Historically with Repurpose, in order to publish to Instagram you had to use an Instagram Business account. With this special test program, Meta is allowing a small subset of Creator accounts to publish directly to Reels through Repurpose.
If you are eligible for this test program - you'll be able to publish directly to a Instagram creator account. With a creator account you may have access to features just for creators such as: Instagram Subscriptions, Branded Content Partnerships and creator marketplace. Check all the features here.
Easily switch your Instagram back to Creator by following these steps
open your Instagram mobile app.
click the menu (3 lines top right) → Settings → Account → Switch Account Type and choose “Switch to creator account”
Then go ahead and check if your Creator account is eligible for Reels publishing (see below for details)
All you need to do is check if your Creator account is eligible for Reels publishing (see below for details)
Visit the Connections page
Click the “Add a new connection” button
Follow the steps to connect your Instagram account

visit the Repurpose Connections page
click the “i” icon next to your Instagram connection
review the popup and see which of your Instagram accounts are eligible for Reels publishing

A: The publishing functionality would be the same as you have today with a Business account but now as a Creator account you may have access to features just for creators such as: Instagram Subscriptions, Branded Content Partnerships and creator marketplace. Check all the features here.

A: “No. Participants may not share anything publicly about this experience.

A: We are partnering with Meta to alpha test this functionality and while we value your interest in it, not all accounts are eligible to participate at this moment. We will share more about this feature when we plan on making it widely available.
Q: What if I have multiple IG accounts
A: This Eligibility is by individual account - so some of your accounts may be eligible and some may not be.
Q: Will I lose this functionality when the alpha test ends?
A: No, Meta shared with us they do not intend to remove this functionality for those are eligible and begin publishing to their creator accounts. Of course they could change their mind and remove it as they could with any feature - but for now they are staying your access to publish to a creator account would continue when the test commences.
