Automatically Publish Content on a Set Schedule

Don't have a Repurpose.io account? Sign up for free here!

Auto Publish Schedules let you choose exactly when your content gets published automatically, with specific days of the week and time windows set for each workflow. Set it once and let Repurpose.io do the rest — no need to log in every time you want to post.

Use this feature to:

  • Automatically repurpose existing and/or new content across platforms.
  • Keep a consistent posting rhythm.
  • Maintain full control over when each post goes live.

How Auto Publish Works

Auto Publish Schedules can be used with any workflow type, including:

  • 🎥 Video to Video (e.g., TikTok → IG Reels)
  • 🎧 Audio to Video (e.g., Audio Podcast → YouTube)

Exception: Workflows that use Google Drive or Dropbox as destinations do not support auto publishing on a schedule, as these are considered backup workflows and operate differently. Learn more here.

Schedule Rules and Limits

When setting up your schedule, keep in mind:

  • You can add up to 5 time slots per day.
  • Each time slot must have a minimum 2-hour gap.
  • One video will be published within each time slot.

Snapchat exception: Workflows with Snapchat as the destination publish 5 videos per time slot and may include up to 10 slots per day. All other workflows follow the standard limits listed above.

Step 1 — Activate Auto Publish on a Workflow

You can turn on Auto Publish for any workflow right from the main workflows page or within the workflow’s View Workflow page by switching the Auto Publish toggle from Manual to Auto.

If your workflow was created as “Existing Content” and Auto Publish has never been enabled before, Repurpose.io will prompt you to set up your publishing schedule right after activation — this happens only the first time you enable it. However, if Auto Publish was previously enabled or if your workflow isn’t the Existing Content type, then:

  • The schedule prompt will not appear again.
  • The workflow will use your previous auto publish settings, or default behavior if none were configured.

You can always verify or adjust the current Auto Publish Mode, Schedule, and Scope inside your workflow’s Settings — accessed by clicking the gear icon ⚙️ in the top-right corner of the workflow.

Step 2 — Choose Which Content to Auto Publish

Inside your workflow’s settings, decide which content will follow your Auto Publish Schedule:

  • Only Existing content (default option)
  • Only Future content (upcoming)
  • All Content (both existing and new content)

When including existing content, you can filter by:

  • All existing content
  • Only content created either before or after a specific date.
  • Only content created within a specific date range.

By default, Repurpose publishes content from newest to oldest, but you can reverse this order (oldest to newest) inside the workflow’s Settings if you prefer a chronological publishing flow.

Step 3 — Adjust Your Publish Schedule

After the initial schedule is created, you can adjust it anytime from your workflow’s Settings. To access it, click the gear icon ⚙️ at the top-right corner of the workflow, then scroll to the bottom of the popup to find the Auto Publish Schedule section. Here you can:

  • Add new time slots by clicking ➕ Add another time slot on the right side of each day.
  • Remove existing slots by clicking the 🗑️ trash can icon to the right of each slot.
  • Adjust the days and times for each publishing window as needed.

Right above the schedule, you’ll also find additional configuration options:

  • Scope → Choose what type of content to include using the Content Filter and Date Filter fields.
  • Publishing Order → Use the field “In what sequence would you like to publish the content?” to decide if videos are published newest to oldest (default) or oldest to newest.

Once you've made your adjustments, use the Save button to apply the changes.

If your workflow publishes to Snapchat, you can set up to 10 slots per day, and each slot can publish up to 5 videos. All other workflows can include up to 5 slots per day, with at least 2 hours between each slot.

How the Schedule Works

🔁 Automatic Mode

When a workflow is in Auto Mode, Repurpose automatically publishes videos according to your selected schedule.

All content (existing or new) that meet your filters will publish in the defined time slots — no manual action required.

🕹️ Manual Override

If you’d like to change the publishing time for a specific video or publish it immediately:

  1. Go to the View Workflow page.
  2. Click Cancel next to the auto-scheduled video.
  3. Then click Schedule to Publish right away, or Select a new time and date.

These adjustments apply only to that individual video — your main schedule remains unchanged.

FAQ

Will the auto-scheduled videos appear in the calendar?

While videos are auto-scheduled, they won’t appear in the Calendar view. They’ll only show up after they’ve been successfully published or if the publishing fails. However, you can easily spot them in the View Workflow page, where each video will display an “Auto Scheduled” status on the right-hand side.

Can I pause Auto Publish?

Yes. Switch the workflow to Manual Mode to pause, and back to Auto to resume later.

Can I choose a timezone for scheduling?

Schedules currently follow your device's default timezone; setting custom timezones for individual schedules isn't supported yet.

Can I use schedules if my destination is Google Drive or Dropbox?

No — workflows with Google Drive or Dropbox as destinations don’t support auto publishing based on a schedule. These are backup workflows and process content at a rate of 5 videos per hour, without following a set schedule.

Are Snapchat workflows different?

Yes. Snapchat workflows are the only exception — they publish 5 videos per time slot and support up to 10 slots per day.
