Connect Your YouTube Account

You can connect your YouTube account either during workflow setup or from the Connections page. The connection process is the same in both cases.

  1. Create a New Workflow or open the Connections page.
  2. Select YouTube.
  3. Select the Google account associated with your YouTube channel
  4. If prompted, select the YouTube channel or Brand Account you want to connect. This prompt only appears if the selected Google account has multiple YouTube channels associated with it
  5. Accept all permissions
  6. Click Continue to complete the connection.

Important Notes:

  • Manager permissions are not enough to add a channel. The selected Google account must have owner permissions for the desired YouTube channel
  • Having a Google account does not automatically mean you have a YouTube channel. You must first create a channel on the YouTube website.
  • The YouTube connection as a source is not available during the Free Trial period and is only available as a destination. An active paid plan is required to connect and use YouTube as a source.

Selecting the Correct YouTube Channel

If the selected Google account has multiple YouTube channels associated with it, Google will show a screen called “Choose your account or a brand account”.

Each option shown represents a different YouTube channel connected to that Google account, even if the names appear confusing or one option displays your email address instead of a channel name. Here are some helpful tips for identifying the desired channel:

  • The channels are listed in the same order they appear on the YouTube website when switching between channels
  • Every listed option corresponds to a real channel
  • Channel names may not exactly match what you expect

Example:

Below is an example showing 4 channel options available under the same Google account, where the naming can sometimes be confusing. Notice that during the “Choose Your Account or Brand Account” step in Repurpose, in this particular example, the first and fourth options appear differently from how they are shown on the YouTube website. However, those options are still linked to their respective channels.

If you are still unsure which option is correct, you can safely use a bit of trial and error: Select one option and complete the connection, then go to the Connections page and check the channel tag (@) shown for the connection. If it’s the wrong channel, remove the connection and reconnect using a different option.

Note: If Google skips the channel selection step and goes directly to the authorization screen, that usually means the selected Google account only has one YouTube channel associated with it, or that you do not have owner permissions for the channel you’re trying to connect.
